The feeling of tasting a coffee is unique. A special and personal matter for everyone. Coffee with intense, flavourful, delightful and special character makes your day. There is nothing better than starting your day with a smile, good mood and cup of good coffee. With or without sugar, with milky or black it never disappoints you. However, the combination of coffee and milk never disappoints.
The name of this delight is of course… Cappuccino!
It may very well be the most popular coffee beverage in the world. It is found everywhere with different variations and different preparation methods. The principle method of preparation however remains the same everywhere.
The story of Cappuccino begins in the 18th century. Its original form was originally conceived in Vienna but quickly spread to the rest of Europe. The secret of Cappuccino that makes it so beloved and special is the measurements of its ingredients which give it a variety of different flavour results. At Coffee Island, we have a special love and preference to Cappuccino, Cappuccino Latte and our favourite Flat White.
Three recipes. Three different tastes. One pleasure.
Cappuccino Coffee Island – A common value
One part espresso and equal parts warm milk and froth are enough to enjoy a sweetened coffee without the guilt of sugar. Its special taste comes from the warm frothed milk that gives sweetness and volume to the beverage. When the milk reaches the correct volume, it will create a smooth cream that will retain the acidity of the espresso making it sweeter, while at the same time giving it a smoother creamier tooth that enchants from the start. We can’t ask for much more. Our obsession with coffee is known to everyone anyways.
Coffee Island Latte – A milky value
Latte… milk in Italian. Despite its Italian name it first appeared in the U.S.A. Latte is the perfect beverage for anyone who drinks his coffee with milk… or maybe the opposite. It’s main difference with the classic Cappuccino is the amount of milk and the intensity of flavour. It is usually served in a larger glass and its taste of milk is stronger than the taste of coffee.
Flat White – Intense Value
Cappuccino is evolving, becoming more modern and more intense, with a significant difference to our other recipes. The espresso used in our Flat White is a Ristretto. The same amount of espresso, extracted at the same time with a smaller amount of water. If you are energetic and try to give more intensity to your day, Flat White is the coffee you have been looking for! The milk froths slightly and mixes with the coffee at the bottom of your cup. This allows our baristi to create designs on the surface of the coffee, more commonly known as “Latte art”.
At Coffee Island, we are driven by a natural love for coffee and a pursuit for recipes and production methods that will complete our flavour profile. Our Coffee gains character! We search for new coffee tasting pleasures, based on quality. The recipes don’t need to be hidden, as the value of enjoying a good coffee is priceless
