We welcome the new limited edition Microfarm, cultivated on small farms in the Rwenzori Mountains region in western Uganda. These farms are located at an altitude of 2,000–2,200 meters above sea level and are managed by just over 600 smallholder farmers. Coffee cultivation in the region began in 2022, unlocking its potential, and in 2023, an even larger processing station was established. This year, efforts were focused on creating a specialized team of coffee experts from Uganda, who contribute to the evaluation and processing of coffee beans. This team, comprising internationally recognized individuals, trains and guides local smallholder farmers.
A key feature of the SL-14 variety, the star of this Microfarm, is its resilience to drought and cold. Found mainly in Uganda and Kenya, these regions offer an ideal environment for its cultivation, with ample rainfall and shade, enabling the production of high-quality coffee beans.
