Freshly ground coffee beans are extracted, and the coffee is then separated from the grounds with a filter, which can be paper, metal, cloth or plastic. The success of the extraction depends on the quality of the beans, the grind size, the recipe, the water temperature (which should be 92-95 degrees), and the extraction time and process. There are a variety of extraction methods and equipment to choose from, such as the Hario V60, the French Press, the AeroPress, the Syphon, the Chemex, and the electric brewer.
